New Gospel Translations Launched in India

At the beginning of June, distribution began of two newly printed translations of the Gospel
according to John: one in Telugu and the other in Kannada. To support their introduction, a series of promotional meetings and events is being held across India. These gatherings are intended to raise awareness of
the new translations, explain why they are needed, and help pastors and church leaders understand the importance of using faithful and accurate translations of the Scriptures. Alongside the meetings, efforts are being made to reach churches, contacts,
    and bookshops.

A TBS deputation speaker who is currently touring India to promote the translations reported a particularly encouraging response from those attending. He noted, ‘Pastors who attended wrote down everything I said, noting all the problematic verses. That
was very encouraging to see.’ Their careful attention and willingness to examine the differences between translations demonstrated a sincere concern for the accuracy of God’s Word. It is hoped that these meetings will encourage wider use of the new
translations and strengthen confidence in their faithfulness to the original text.

Pray that these translations would be used to bring light and life to the souls of millions across India. ‘But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name’ (John
    20.31).

Hope Behind Prison Walls

One of the distribution opportunities the Society persues is prisons. We are grateful for our network of prison chaplains, who enable contact between us and those in custody. For many, prison is a great temporal loss. But for some, it is a glorious opportunity
to hear of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are pleased to share the following report from a chaplain earlier this year, who was granted our Words of Life calendars to distribute to prisoners:

I just wanted to say thank you at TBS for the calendars which arrived this week. For your encouragement I have already given out two today to people who specifically asked for one. The first man is on a bit of a journey: he was registered as a Rastafarian,
then became spiritualist, then I have spent time with him in the past few weeks explaining why we need Jesus Christ, not just God. Today I filled in a prison ‘change of religion’ form with him. Under reason for change he wrote the words ‘Found God’
    and ‘Met with Jesus’.

The second man lost a daughter in a tragic accident. In despair he turned to drugs for comfort, and dealing to fund the habit. He has now left the drugs behind and is making the long road back to his Christian roots. I encouraged him to read the story
of Joseph understanding how God turns evil to good in Genesis 50.

‘The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound’ (Isaiah 61.1).

Halam – The First Scriptures for 100,000 People

When the predominantly Christian Halam tribe in the Indian state of Tripura heard about the coming Gospel according to John, the universal reaction turned from incredulity— ‘Can we really have the written Scripture in our language?’—to eagerness and excitement—‘How
    long will it take?’

Much work has prayerfully gone into this publication. As our lead Halam translator has said, ‘We are afraid that we will mistranslate the Word of God. We know very clearly that our mistranslation will lead the reader to misunderstand the Word of God’.
It is a concern that drives them to their knees.

Then the Lord’s great kindness and compassion were seen when the first Scriptures in the Halam language arrived in Tripura. We rejoice that 5,000 copies of the TBS Gospel according to John were printed, which have recently arrived for free distribution.
Please join us in praying for the translation team and those assisting in distributing the Scriptures.

Calendars Distributed to 1,200 Students in Burundi

Golden Thoughts calendars are one of our long-standing publications. Offering a reading from Scripture each day, the calendars are an ongoing source of encouragement and wisdom, reminding readers of God’s Word amidst joys and trials throughout the year.

Designed to be basic and economical, the calendars are mostly utilised in places where delivering New Testaments and Bibles is difficult or costly. Most of our Golden Thoughts calendars are freely granted to impoverished regions.

We are pleased to share the following report from one such grant, provided by a coordinator associated with the Free Grace Evangelistic Association (FGEA). This concerns the distribution of calendars in French, one of Burundi’s official languages, to
    the city of Bujumbura.

Dear Brothers in Jesus Christ,

Please accept our deep Christian greetings and brotherly wishes in Jesus Christ!

We appreciate the dedication and affection you demonstrate towards us and our fellow siblings around the globe.

Great joy was experienced on March 31 when a team of God’s servants, including the leaders of FGEA Burundi, visited a secondary school to distribute Golden Thoughts calendars to the students.

A total of 1,200 students received these materials. The students expressed their sincere gratitude for this valuable gift from FGEA England, which was generously provided through the Trinitarian Bible Society.

All the students who received the calendars also expressed a strong desire to receive Bibles in the future. Many of them do not own Bibles and would like to better understand what they read in the calendars by studying it directly from the Word of God.

The school director concluded the event by expressing heartfelt appreciation for this generous donation. In his speech, he also requested that such Christian books be made available more frequently and in larger quantities, along with Bibles, as they help students grow in the Word of God.

‘Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them’ (Ecclesiastes 12.1).

A Journey Marked by God’s Hand: 20,000 Bibles Safely Delivered

In recent weeks, we have prayed for the safe delivery of 10,000 Vaiphei and 10,000 Zou Bibles. We give thanks that the Lord heard and answered our prayer amid the recent unrest in Manipur, India.

Following their release from port authorities, these Bibles travelled nearly 2,000 miles by lorry from Mumbai to Manipur. At the time, the state of Manipur was in a difficult and painful period.

On 7 April, a tragic incident occurred near a district border village when an explosive device was detonated, claiming the lives of two children and injuring their mother.

Immediately movement along the roads leading to Manipur was severely disrupted. Goods transport was halted, and reports emerged of vehicles being stopped and even set on fire. The situation remained volatile for weeks.

Humanly speaking, this was the worst possible time for our shipment to travel these roads to Manipur. Yet, God’s plans were not hindered by earthly conflict or closed routes.

Despite the roads remaining closed to most traffic, our shipment of Bibles was able to pass through and arrived safely. When all other goods were stopped, and when fear and uncertainty ruled the highways, the Word of God still found a way.

This journey stands as a living reminder that ‘the word of God is not bound’ (2 Timothy 2.9). Despite the violence, grief, and division, the Lord ensured His Word reached His people at the appointed time.

These Bibles will shortly enter the hands of Vaiphei and Zou speakers. Please pray for the widespread distribution and adoption of these Bibles, and that they would be an abundant blessing to many.

An Open Door for the French Scriptures in West Africa

A remarkable opportunity for the spread of God’s Word across French‑speaking Africa is unfolding through our French New Testament, first published in 2022. Since its launch TBS has circulated around 90,000 copies, following multiple reprints and an overwhelmingly
positive response from pastors and church workers. The latest edition of the New Testament is currently being printed alongside the Psalms. We are thankful that work is also progressing well on the rest of the Old Testament books.

At the end of 2023, the Gereformeerde Bijbelstichting (GBS) in the Netherlands agreed to fund a major distribution initiative. Through this partnership, TBS are distributing 50,000 French New Testaments freely across nine West African countries with the
help of the Free Grace Evangelistic Association (FGEA). By December 2025 more than 38,000 copies had already been shipped to Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo.

The impact is already significant. Reports from the field describe evangelists travelling to remote and impoverished areas (some without roads, hospitals, or schools) to share the Scriptures. In conflict‑affected regions of the Democratic Republic of
Congo, soldiers and civilians have been waiting eagerly for the arrival of the New Testaments, expressing heartfelt thanks for the sacrifices made to deliver them.

The Lord Himself has opened this remarkable door and graciously provided the means for this work to advance thus far.

Demand continues to grow across Africa and Europe. Projected needs for 2026–2027 are expected to exceed 100,000 copies, and we pray that He will provide the significant additional funding required.

‘He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly’ (Psalm 147.15).

Scripture Greetings Cards Distributed to Prisoners in Louisiana, USA

To the penitent criminal, prison is a place of deep self-examination, often marked by a painful reckoning of past sins and wrongdoings. Ample time and opportunity are available to grapple with life’s deeper questions, confront a troubled past, and
perhaps face a troubling future. This prolonged and sometimes lifelong season of reflection can be profoundly isolating, as these matters are pressed upon hearts and minds with little relief or distraction.

Yet, in these difficult times, God’s gracious call is near, and repentance is within reach; but so too is the dark path towards shame, despair, and greater hardening. The following comes to mind: ‘I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing:
therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live’ (Deuteronomy 30.19). Here, even a small message of Gospel hope, a gracious word spoken in season (cf. Proverbs 15.23), can be instrumental in bringing prisoners to the salvation found in
    Christ.

The following report, recently received by our US office, has been shared concerning the distribution of gift packages to prison inmates in Louisiana. These packages contain TBS Scripture greetings cards.

I want to thank you for the grant of 504 beautiful greeting cards to be used for inmates. These were first distributed to various individuals who offered to help write encouraging words, exhortations, and messages of love. School children even took part by drawing lovely pictures. As I received the cards back and perused them the prayers began to ascend: ‘The right message into the right bag into the right hands. And, Lord, prepare the hearts and consciences to receive and begin a redemptive work’.

The man who orchestrates this ministry is a one-time prisoner who received a Bible, got right with God, and was set free from the shackles of sin! For 30 years he has reached out to prisoners with packages of hope letting them know they are not forgotten.

Well, the day finally arrived. Friday 6 March at 1.00 p.m., over 100 people began filing into the prepared warehouse. The pallets towered with boxes of packaged food, tracts, calendars, devotional books, and cards. All was set. Everyone took their station in assembly-line fashion and the task began. The goal: 3,000 bags in the space of three and a half hours were to be filled, and then loaded into the tractor trailer to be distributed in a prison in Louisiana …

One man, under a life sentence, waits for the next card to come so he could replace the old one, which he then keeps in a box. Encouraging words have power.

Thank you again for granting the cards to be a part of lightening another’s soul.

May the Lord our God be highly glorified and the Son Jesus Christ be exalted and the Spirit of the ever living God do an effective work of redeeming lost souls back to Himself.

Please pray that the Lord would bless these efforts to the salvation of these inmates, and that those in the ‘valley of the shadow of death’ (Psalm 23.4) would come to experience the grace of God. We thank our supporters worldwide who give generously
which makes efforts like this possible.

Kenyan Bible College Receives Biblical Greek New Testaments

‘These [Bereans] were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so’ (Acts 17.11).

In addition to the distribution of Bible translations worldwide, TBS also provides editions of the Scriptures in the original Biblical languages. In particular, we distribute copies of the Greek Received and the Hebrew Masoretic Texts, which have been providentially preserved through the ages.

While these editions are available to all, they are often received by those engaged in formal theological study. Specifically, these are men training in seminaries and Bible colleges as they prepare for the faithful ministry of the Word of God.

We are thankful to report on one such distribution that occurred in February, in the town of Bomet, Kenya. A college there is associated with our lead Kalenjin translator, who, alongside his translation work, also oversees the work of the local seminary.

We received a report from a student concerning the receipt of 20 copies of the Koiné Greek New Testament:

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. On behalf of the Greek students and the entire Bomet Bible Institute fraternity, I write to express our heartfelt thanksgiving to God and our sincere appreciation to the Trinitarian Bible Society
for the generous donation of Greek New Testament copies to our institution.

We truly acknowledge that this provision is from the Lord. It is by His grace and divine provision that this timely resource has been made available to us. We are especially grateful that each Greek student received a personal copy of the Greek New Testament,
a gift that has been received with great joy and gratitude by all the students.

Greek, being one of the original languages of the Bible, is not easy to learn. It requires commitment, patience, and adequate resources. This donation has therefore come as a great encouragement and support to us in our studies, enabling us to engage
more deeply with God’s Word and to handle the Scriptures more accurately.

On behalf of the Greek students and the entire Bomet Bible Institute community, we humbly receive this gift with thanksgiving. May the Lord richly bless the Trinitarian Bible Society and continue to use you as vessels through whom His Word reaches many
    more for His glory.

We pray that the Lord will be pleased to bless the men who study these Scriptures, and we seek your prayers in their efforts to that end.

God’s Word Reaches War-Torn Bunia, DRC

In Bunia, located in the eastern side of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, an evangelical radio director has been working tirelessly to place TBS French New Testaments into the hands of people devastated by the ongoing war. No postal system exists
in this region, and as such each parcel is routed through Uganda and carried back across the border by hand. This perseverance has enabled the Scriptures to reach believers hungry for faithful copies, Sabbath school children, and war refugees who
had fled with nothing but their lives.

The response has been encouraging: some rejoiced that they could finally read God’s Word for themselves, others offered heartfelt thanks and prayers, and those who could not read longed for a copy in hopes of sharing in the blessing. These efforts stand
as a humbling reminder that the Lord works through patience and quiet faithfulness, and further opportunities to send more Scriptures are already being prayerfully anticipated.

2,000 Tamil Gospels Distributed

We are pleased to report on the distribution of 2,000 copies of the Tamil Gospel according to John which was completed in January. This marks the first printing of our current Tamil project (a revision of the Old Tamil Version).

Our reviser remarked these Gospels were received with eagerness and a warm welcome, for which we are thankful. Believers praised the clarity of this literal translation, and thus, its suitability for sound biblical exposition, compared to the dynamic
translations currently in circulation. The interest is keen across denominational lines, further enhancing evangelistic efforts. Their eager reception highlights the pressing need for faithful Scriptures.

A pastor involved in distribution efforts recounted ‘how a Hindu priest gladly accepted a copy for reading’, something the reviser himself noted surprisingly, though he believed this demonstrated ‘the openness of hearts when the Word of God is faithfully
presented’. Ministers themselves received the Gospels with much gratitude and eagerly await the publication of the coming New Testament, Lord willing, which the reviser is currently working on.

We are thankful for the generosity of our supporters in Canada, which helped make this publication possible. Our reviser has expressed his thanks to all Society’s supporters, ‘I extend my heartfelt thanks to all who have sacrificially given to make this
distribution possible. Your generosity has enabled many believers and churches to receive the Word of God in their own language. May the Lord richly bless you for your partnership in the Gospel’.

Spreading the Good News in Zambia

One of the great privileges TBS has is providing Scriptures to
those who distribute them freely. Every week Scriptures are eagerly received by grantees who desire to see God’s Word spread throughout their local communities—and they diligently take up the task set before them. With their help, we are able to distribute
millions of Bibles, New Testaments, Gospels, and Scripture portions around the world every year.

In Zambia, distribution has started for a grant containing 1,000 English Golden Thoughts calendars, 72 Hampton Text Bibles, and 100 Pocket New Testaments and Psalms. The grantee wrote to us in February that he expects it will take until the end of March
    to distribute these.

As this grantee labours faithfully, let us pray for him and the Lord’s blessing on his work. Pray that he will be given wisdom to distribute to people who desire God’s Word, that it will be gladly received and used in the lives of Zambians, and that more
opportunities to distribute the Gospel will arise in Zambia.

The Value of God’s Word for Empty Hands in Kenya

In Nairobi, Kenya, one of our grantees faced a challenge: how to place God’s Word into the hands of those who need it most. Many are receptive to receiving a Bible, but how do you decide whose need is greatest?

Through the Lord’s leading, the grantee noticed that spiritual hunger was evident across three distinct groups: recovering addicts seeking hope in rehabilitation centres, primary school children without access to Scripture, and Arabic speakers scattered
across the country and travelling abroad, for whom Bibles, let alone faithful ones, are seldom found. As word spread among friends and acquaintances that Scriptures were freely available, many additional eager requests came from them—a reminder to
us of the words of David: ‘As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God’ (Psalm 42.1).

However, before the Scriptures arrived and distribution efforts could begin, the Kenyan government added import taxes on the Scripture grant. We often face such challenges in impoverished countries, even when customs authorities are assured that the Bibles
are not for sale. However, in this case, the Lord graciously overruled, and through correspondence with TBS finance staff the matter was resolved.

Sending forth the Word of God

The Lord providentially directed the distribution of 528 Bibles to those in genuine need. Some notable gifts include:

30 English Bibles placed in the hands of men and women recovering from addiction through a church rehabilitation program, where regular Bible study provided a spiritual foundation for their recovery.

70 English Bibles given to primary school students. Our grantee notes that ‘the students are now able to follow up on Scripture as [he teaches] them Biblical doctrines’—something so simple, indeed obvious to many of us, yet perhaps taken for granted!

174 Arabic Bibles to a faithful minister engaged in public Muslim evangelism.

More Bibles were distributed during personal evangelism efforts and Gospel tracts were handed out during both organised church evangelistic events and street outreach—our grantee notes that tracts were given to young people playing football near his church.

‘I thank God that I have a copy of God’s Word’

The recipients’ responses revealed the value they placed on receiving God’s Word. One woman, Barbra, described her Bible as ‘the most wonderful gift I have received this year and in my entire life’. Another recipient, Sam, expressed gratitude: ‘I thank
God that I have a copy of God’s Word. Now I can follow up preaching in church.’ Even more striking was one lady’s request: ‘Please give my boyfriend a copy of God’s word. I want him to be born again’.

Given the cost of Bibles in a country where wages are typically low, people find it remarkable that there are some who are so concerned about the souls of people that they would be willing to provide them free of charge.

We are reminded that ‘So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God’ (Romans 10.17). It is our prayer that the Lord would bless His Word to the salvation of those souls mentioned above—that these Scriptures would not return void,
but would accomplish the purpose for which God sent them forth (cf. Isaiah 55.11). May those who received God’s Word read it faithfully, and may the Holy Spirit use these sacred words to bring many to saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Distribution of Golden Thoughts Calendars in Ghana

We are pleased to report on the delivery of 300 Golden Thoughts calendars earlier this year, in English, French, and Hausa, to Atebubu in Ghana. The grantee, a pastor, provided the following report:

I am [a recipient] of your Golden Thoughts calendars and two Bibles, for which I thank you very much in Christ. I beg you for the delay for my report on calendars, simply because I was not well, and now I am doing fine in Christ.

Prayerfully, my Christian brothers and I distributed the calendars to those who know how to read and write English, French, [or] Hausa languages and are also trying to translate this unique calendars into our mother tongue [for those who] live in the
villages. A great number of people, bus and auto drivers, high school, medical, and engineering students and workers and employers in the factories, teachers, Sunday school, and all who received them with great interest are being blessed by these
calendars that carries the true plan of salvation.

Many people received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior through your calendars in our city and the villages, but we need a lot of Bibles, therefore, we need you to send us the Bibles and calendars for the new believers, who are many, I attached to
this letter and nice photos to you, please uphold our ministry in your valuable prayers.

Respectfully your servant in His vineyard. Thank you.

We give thanks to the Lord through the generosity of our supporters, that these Scripture items have been received by those who would have otherwise been unable to afford them. Please pray that our granting efforts may long continue, and that these Scriptures
would be a daily blessing to the recipients, as God’s Word enters their hearts.

Stored in a Basement, Sent to the Nations

When 10,000 Armenian Bibles (which TBS had given permission to a trusted organisation to print under license) arrived in Yerevan from Belarus in January 2025, they were quietly placed in the basement of a local church, awaiting the right moment. That moment came on 4 April, when 45 pastors gathered in fellowship to discuss the distribution of these precious volumes. Yet even as the meeting began, calls were still coming in from churches and pastors who had not heard in time and were pleading to be included. The need was greater than anticipated.

Rather than rushing the process, the pastors paused to recalculate, reallocate, and prayerfully consider how best to steward the gift. The distribution was delayed but not denied. In due course every Bible was placed into the hands of those who would use it for ministry, witness, and comfort. This was a quiet testimony to the Lord’s provision and the faithful labour of His servants; ‘But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus’ (Philippians 4.19).

Among those present was Pastor Suren, who had overseen the storage of the Bibles. With quiet conviction, he asked whether some could be sent to Armenian communities living in hardship abroad. He was told that he knew more about the need for Bibles among Armenian speakers, and those closest to the need, like he was, are best placed to discern it. As long as the Bibles were given freely, without charge, he was welcome to send them wherever the Word was most needed.

One year later, these Bibles have been distributed, and another 7,500 New Testaments are currently being printed. We pray that these will be distributed just as quickly. To date over TBS has printed over 100,000 Bibles and nearly 150,000 New Testaments in this language since it was first published.

Pray for the Lord’s blessing on all who receive a copy of His Word. ‘… blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it’ (Luke 11.28).

Distribution in Desauri Tharu Villages, Western Nepal

‘So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God’ (Romans 10.17).

The voices of 1,300 Desauri Tharu people rose in their remote villages of Western Nepal on 25 December 2025 as the first chapter of the Gospel according to John was read aloud, not in a foreign tongue, but in the language of their hearts. For many listening
that morning, it was the first time they had ever heard the Word of God in Desauri Tharu.

Village leaders, both Christian and non-Christian, stood holding the newly printed books with expressions of wonder. ‘We never thought we would see Scripture in our own language’, one remarked. What had seemed impossible, God’s Word rendered faithfully
in a language spoken by so few, now rested in their hands.

This second distribution effort, following the historic first in 2024, represented the faithful labour of the Desauri Tharu translation team. Working tirelessly to render the Gospel according to John, the Lord helped them to overcome linguistic challenges,
financial constraints, and the practical difficulties of reaching scattered villages. Their commitment arose from a singular conviction: that the Desauri Tharu people needed to encounter Christ in the Scriptures just as clearly as any English or Nepali
    speaker.

A day of distribution

The translators and other helpers arrived in the villages with copies of the Gospel according to John to distribute. Among the 1,300 people who gathered, approximately 300 were Christian believers and 1,000 non-believers. Many may have come for the promised
meal but left with something far more nourishing.

As each person received their copy, the organisers explained what they held: not merely a book, but the very words of eternal life in their mother tongue. One of the local church leaders, Pastor Ram Bahadur Tharu, declared, ‘The Gospel according to John
will be very helpful for the pastors to preach the sermons in Desauri language’. No longer would pastors struggle to communicate the Gospel across the barrier of language. Nor would believers depend solely on translations that, though they could understand,
did not speak to their hearts as their mother tongue.

The reading of John 1 transformed the gathering. Non-believers who had come curious or hungry grew quiet as they heard: ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God’, proclaimed in Desauri Tharu. The familiar cadence
of their own language carried the unfamiliar message of the Gospel, and many listened with gripped attention, amazed that such words existed in their tongue.

Looking forward

Local pastors now possess a vital resource for evangelism, discipleship, and Bible study. During the programme, they prayed earnestly for the completion of the entire New Testament translation and expressed excitement about future projects, including
audio Bibles for those who cannot read and wider distribution to reach every Desauri Tharu village.

All glory belongs to God alone, who is sovereign over His Word and opens hearts to receive it. Yet we give thanks for the faithful translators who laboured to make this distribution possible, for the William Carey Foundation whose generous financial support
enabled the work, and for the local pastors and leaders who received the Scriptures with joy and commitment to teach them faithfully.

How to pray for this project:

Thank God for the Desauri Tharu translators and all who supported this distribution

Pray for believers to grow in faith as they study Scripture in their own language

Pray that non-believers who received the Gospel according to John would read it, hear God’s voice, and come to saving faith in Christ

Pray for the translation team as they work to complete the full New Testament; the development of audio Bibles; and for God’s provision, protection, and perseverance in this vital work

May the Lord be pleased to use His Word in Desauri Tharu to bring many souls to saving knowledge of Him. To Him be the glory in the salvation of the Desauri Tharu people.

The Unchanging Word in a New Year: Gospels Distributed in Kenya and Tanzania

While the world made resolutions that will quickly fade, something extraordinary was unfolding in East Africa. In the first week of 2026, eager hands reached out, not for temporal promises, but for eternal truth.

For years, many in these communities had been without access to faithful Scriptures in their own tongue, and the spiritual hunger was palpable. On New Year’s Day, a TBS translator who is also a grantee, laboured faithfully to bring God’s Word to people
in Kenya. He arrived at Tenwek Africa Gospel Unity Church carrying precious cargo: more than a thousand copies of the Gospel according to John and The Lord Gave the Word in Swahili. He placed the Scriptures into eager hands, praising God as,
on the same day, he baptised seven new converts. ‘What a blessing! What a joy!’ he shared.

Three days later, a fellow translator journeyed to Ukerewe Island in Tanzania, where he witnessed more than eighty adults hungry for God’s Word assemble. The Gospel and accompanying article were also distributed at this event. In their hands they held
not merely printed pages, but ancient truth, unchanged and eternal, the very words of life.

A new year has begun, but the Lord who saves souls remains the same. We give thanks to God for these distributions and pray that He will use these Scriptures to bring many to salvation through His inerrant and eternal Word.

‘Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning’ (James 1.17).

Hope Through Scripture in a Darkening Land—Burkina Faso

The request seemed ordinary enough: 200 French Scripture calendars for Burkina Faso. But the grantee’s next words revealed something far greater: ‘I should have ordered 1,000’.

Behind this modest order lies the work of 836 after-school Bible clubs in Ouagadougou, where children and teachers faithfully gather each week. In these clubs, the Word of God is taught, and young souls hear the Gospel proclaimed. The Scripture calendars
serve a dual purpose: ‘Golden Thoughts’ editions anchor teachers each morning with a verse to guide their day, while ‘Words of Life’ calendars bearing photographs of God’s creation adorn bare classroom walls, bringing beauty and truth to spaces marked
    by poverty.

The Swahili distribution efforts for the Gospel according to John and the article The Lord Gave the Word began last week, and already hundreds of copies have been distributed. Opportunities, such as a men’s conference and Sabbath school classes,
have allowed for the distribution to proceed rapidly. We pray that the Gospel will be blessed to young and old.

It is with great thanks to the Lord that we can report that the Gospel according to John has been printed and many copies have already been delivered into the hands of members of the translation team in Kenya. Along with the Gospels, a Swahili version
of our article The Lord Gave the Word was also printed.

As the distribution of these Gospels commences, please remember this in prayer:

Pray that all the copies may quickly be eagerly received, read, and used for the spiritual nourishment of Swahili speakers.

Pray that the Gospel will be used by churches and individuals, with many adopting it as their translation of choice.

Pray that the article will increase interest in the project and that many would see the need for this new and faithful translation of the Scriptures.

In 2024 we published the Gospel according to John in Kikamba (a language spoken in Kenya). Most of the 15,000 printed copies have been distributed, with some of these given to school children. It was a blessing to see photos of children eagerly receiving
and reading the Gospel. Please continue to pray for the translation of the remaining New Testament books and for many more Scriptures to be distributed.

In addition to distributing Bibles, many grantees also help people understand the importance of having a faithful translation of Scripture in their own heart language. In Chhattisgarh, India, the lead reviewer of our Hindi project exemplifies this work
by teaching about and sharing accurate copies of God’s Word with those who need it most.

Malawi: 850 Bibles and New Testaments Reach Grateful Hands

Through a series of well-attended conferences organised by a TBS grantee in Malawi, the Word of God was distributed to many eager recipients. In total, 697 Bibles and 163 New Testaments were given out, together with a large quantity of TBS articles designed to strengthen understanding of the Scriptures. The meetings, held in Northern Malawi, were conducted under the theme ‘The Unchangeable Word of God’, emphasising the enduring authority and reliability of the Bible in every generation.

Most of the Bible teaching during these gatherings was drawn from the Society’s helpful articles The Lord Gave the Word and Which Bible Version?, both of which explore how God has preserved His Word and why faithful translation is essential.

‘But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you’ (1 Peter 1.25).
