William Tyndale Children’s Quiz

The 2026 children’s quizzes are now available; they focus on the life and work of William Tyndale. Despite fierce opposition and many hardships, Tyndale devoted his life to translating the Scriptures so that ordinary people could read God’s Word in the English
    language.

Children are invited to complete the quiz in their age-appropriate category. Completed quizzes may be sent to the nearest TBS Branch, and participants can choose either to receive a free Bible or to have Scriptures given to a child in need.

When the subject of religion arises, there is often a common question: ‘How do you know there is a God?’ This is usually followed by another question, ‘If God is real, how does he reveal Himself to us?’

In this address, the Rev. Craig Dennison discusses the two main ways God reveals Himself: natural revelation and special revelation.

Continuing Tyndale’s Legacy: TBS Open Day Marks 500th Anniversary

Five centuries after William Tyndale published his groundbreaking English translation of the New Testament, the Trinitarian Bible Society (TBS) opened its doors on Saturday 7 March 2026 to highlight a legacy that continues to shape the world. The 2026
Open Day, held across two sessions at the Society’s warehouse Headquarters, drew a large number of families and visitors of all ages to discover how Tyndale’s reforming vision lives on in the Society’s global work.

The warehouse was transformed into a lively family space, with a dedicated children’s play area, colouring and design activities inspired by the Tyndale anniversary, and an interactive treasure hunt winding through the warehouse. The film about Tyndale’s
remarkable legacy was also available together with three free booklets about Tyndale and a children’s quiz on the theme. Various displays highlighted the work of the Society.

Three presentations were given, each exploring a different strand of Tyndale’s enduring influence. The first examined Bible distribution, shining a light on the Society’s vital work in countries where Scripture still faces fierce opposition across Asia,
North Africa, and the Middle East. The second focused on Bible translation, highlighting ongoing efforts to bring God’s Word to communities who still lack a reliable translation in their own tongue. The third addressed the doctrine of Scripture, tracing
Tyndale’s unwavering commitment to the authority of the Bible and how TBS continues to uphold those same principles today. Tyndale’s legacy is the foundation on which tomorrow’s work is built.

God has not only given His Word—He has kept it for His people throughout every age. We can be confident that the Authorised (King James) Version we read is the preserved Word of God.

God preserved His Word for several reasons:

To make Himself known.

To make salvation known to sinners.

To strengthen our faith in Him.

For His own glory.

Psalm 138.2, the Psalmist says: ‘I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.’ God has magnified His Word above His name. Let us treasure it,
believe it, obey it, and share it—all for the glory of God.

In the past two years, the Trinitarian Bible Society has begun around 40 new translation projects. Lord willing, for many of these, the first publication will be the Gospel according to John. As we prepare to begin the publication process for several

We are seeking volunteers among our supporters who would be willing to assist us by identifying potential photos for these covers. If you have the skills and interest to help, please contact us at editorial@tbsbibles.org for more information.

On 20 September 2025, the Trinitarian Bible Society (TBS) held its 194th Annual General Meeting at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, once again reaffirming its calling to uphold and spread God’s preserved Word throughout the nations.

Chairman Dr M. R. Keogh-Brown opened the meeting with a reading from 1 Thessalonians 2, reminding attendees of the Apostle Paul’s boldness in preaching the Gospel amid opposition and of the eternal nature of God’s Word. He warned
against receiving Scripture with only cold intellectual assent, urging instead a living faith that treasures and trusts the Bible in every circumstance.

General Secretary Jonathan Arnold reported on the Society’s continued worldwide labours, giving thanks for the Lord’s sustaining grace and the faithful distribution of Scriptures across many countries. He reflected on the legacy of William Tyndale,
whose courageous translation of the Bible continues to inspire, and warned against modern critical editions that undermine confidence in the text of Scripture. He reaffirmed the Society’s unwavering commitment to the Hebrew Masoretic Text and Greek
Received Text as the basis for faithful translation.

Resources Director David Broome gave thanks for God’s provision in the face of financial challenges, noting reduced income from legacies but increased support through donations and investment income. He highlighted the enduring impact of Tyndale’s
pioneering work and stressed the Society’s continued reliance upon God’s grace in translating and distributing the Word worldwide.

Editorial Director Matthew Vogan emphasised the spiritual nature of translation, describing it as removing barriers so the light of Scripture can shine into darkness. He reported significant progress, with work ongoing in more than 90 languages
across six continents. New publications in languages such as Tagalog, Tamil, Kikamba, Kom, and Dan were celebrated, while translators in difficult regions continued their work despite opposition and persecution.

In the absence of Operations Director Philip Blows, the General Secretary presented his report, announcing that in 2024 the Society distributed 3.6 million Scripture items across 98 countries in 41 languages. He gave thanks for opportunities
in restricted regions such as China and for the growing outreach of initiatives like the UK Scripture poster campaign. Grants included 10,000 Ndebele Bibles to Zimbabwe, 5,000 Amharic New Testaments to Ethiopia, and a first edition of the Kalenjin New Testament in Kenya.

A highlight of the meeting was the report on the Kalenjin translation work, presented on behalf of Rev. Dr Jonathan Langat. After many years of effort, the Kalenjin New Testament was joyfully received this summer, marking a historic moment for
the community. Services of thanksgiving were held in Eldoret and Bomet, and copies were distributed with great gratitude. Work on the Old Testament continues, with prayer requested for the translation team.

Warm greetings were also received from the Gereformeerde Bijbelstichting (GBS) in the Netherlands, expressing thankfulness for their ongoing partnership in promoting faithful Bible translation.

Following the AGM, a worship service was held in which Rev. Dr Gerald Bilkes of Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, and a member of the USA Board, preached a challenging yet encouraging sermon from Amos 8.11 and Amos 9.11 on God’s judgment and
        promised restoration.

The overarching message of the day clear: God’s Word is eternal, authoritative, and must be spread with accuracy and faithfulness.

TYNDALE: The Costly Legacy of Bible Translation

A special documentary examining the life and legacy of William Tyndale, the pioneering translator who produced the first English translation of the Scriptures from Hebrew and Greek, has been released.

The documentary, developed over the past year as part of the Society’s commemoration of the 500th anniversary of Tyndale’s New Testament publication, is freely available to the public on YouTube and at the dedicated website tyndalefilm.com.

Filmed in historically significant locations for Tyndale, such as Oxford, Gloucestershire, and London, as well as at William Tyndale House (the TBS headquarters), the documentary features contributions from TBS staff and Bible translators currently engaged
in Scripture translation and distribution worldwide.

‘This documentary illuminates Tyndale’s faithful labour and the significant personal sacrifices he made to publish the Scriptures in the common tongue,’ said General Secretary, Jonathan Arnold. ‘We hope it will encourage supporters of our mission to continue
Tyndale’s legacy: ensuring the Word of God is translated and circulated among all nations for the salvation of many through faith in Christ Jesus.’

Tyndale’s groundbreaking work laid the foundation for subsequent English Bible translations and played a pivotal role in making Scripture accessible to ordinary readers. His translation work ultimately cost him his life, as he was executed for heresy
    in 1536.

In this message given at the Christ in the Text conference, Jonathan Arnold, General Secretary of TBS, provides a message on Do the Modern Omissions of Christ in the Text Matter? He warns that changes found in modern translations—such as
the removal of 1 Timothy 3.16 and Acts 8.37—diminish essential doctrines like the Trinity and the incarnation, and contradict the historic Christian belief in the providential preservation of Scripture.

At our Christ in the Text conference held in June, Pastor Tom Jamison from Israel gave a presentation on Honouring Christ in the Hebrew New Testament, highlighting the need for a revised Delitzsch Hebrew translation. He showed how the
TBS revision corrects significant doctrinal weaknesses in modern Hebrew New Testaments, particularly regarding the deity of Christ. Through side-by-side comparisons, Jamison demonstrated the clarity, fidelity, and theological strength of the updated
Delitzsch text for a new generation of Hebrew readers.

In The Living Word, Christ, Revealed in the Written Word, the Rev. Bartel Elshout outlines the five biblical roles of Christ: the eternal Logos through whom all things were created; the incarnate Word who reconciles sinners to God; the inscripturated
Word, with Scripture as the Spirit-inspired testimony of the Son; the essential focus of all true preaching, requiring ministers to ‘dig in your text until you find Christ’; and the eternal, living Word, who will be the centre of heavenly worship.
He concludes by affirming the church’s solemn duty to protect, preserve, publish, promote, and proclaim the written Word—recognising that Satan seeks to obscure Christ by corrupting the text.
