Founded in 1831 for the circulation of Protestant or uncorrupted versions of the Word of God
The Society publishes Scriptures and Scripture portions in about 40 different languages. We are concerned to make these ever more widely available, and are therefore now providing Scripture material in various languages as free downloads on our website. This is an ongoing project: we aim to make available an increasing number of our Scripture publications in this way in the coming months.
All of the Scripture portions on this page are available in pdf format, which can be opened through Acrobat. If you need Acrobat, please download it here. Where Scriptures are available in print form this is noted in the details given below for each language.
Please note that all downloadable Scripture material remains copyrighted by the Trinitarian Bible Society and cannot be reproduced in any format or length without the express written permission of the Society. Please see our copyright conditions for more information. To share this Scripture material with others please send them a link to this page.
The Spanish New Testament
The Society is engaged in a detailed revision of the 1909 Spanish Reina-Valera Bible, with reference to the underlying Biblical Hebrew and Greek texts, the original 1602 Reina-Valera Bible and other Reformation-era Bibles. The work also involves ensuring the Spanish employed conforms to current international standards of orthography and syntax. The Spanish New Testament, which was published in 2016, can be accessed online by clicking on this link. The print edition is also available and can be purchased online by clicking on this link.
The Gospel according to John in Armenian
In 2012 the Society published the first available faithful edition of the Bible in Eastern Armenian based on the Hebrew Masoretic and Greek Received Texts. The following year we were able to print an attractive new setting of the Armenian Gospel according to John, which can be downloaded here. If you are interested in obtaining printed copies of the Armenian John and the complete Bible, please use our contact form and select ‘Sales Enquiry’. Other Armenian Scripture publications are available using this link.
The Gospel according to John in Bulgarian
Since 2014 the Society has been engaged in a revision of the Old Protestant Bulgarian Bible, making it more accurate to the underlying Greek Received Text and lightly updating the language. The first online-only edition of the Gospel according to John in Bulgarian can be downloaded here. We would welcome feedback from Bulgarian speakers on this gospel; comments can be given by using the contact form and selecting ‘Editorial Enquiry’. We will review any feedback ahead of preparing an edition of the Gospel for print.
The Gospel according to John in Catalan
The Society published a new version of the Catalan Bible in 2009. This was carefully translated from the Hebrew Masoretic and Greek Received Texts. It has been widely received and we are pleased to make available this new setting of the Catalan Gospel according to John, which can be downloaded here. The print edition is available through our Catalan website; other Catalan Scriptures can be purchased from our main website using this link.
The Gospel according to John in Chinese
This gospel is the first fruits of a new translation made directly from the Greek Received Text into current Mandarin Chinese. The translators have sought to provide a Chinese version that, when compared with the Greek, is as literal as possible and only as free as necessary. The Gospel according to John in Chinese can be downloaded here. A Chinese/English diglot edition can be downloaded here. We are currently preparing printed editions that will be available to purchase early in 2017.
The Gospel according to John in Farsi/Persian
The Society is undertaking a fairly light revision of the 1895 standard Farsi Bible to correct readings from the Critical Greek Text and to update the language. As part of this project we are pleased to make available this new edition of the Farsi Gospel according to John, which is available for download here. God willing, printed copies of the Farsi John will be available in 2015 for free distribution, but not for sale. We anticipate that the complete revised 1895 Bible might be published in 2017.
The Gospel according to John in Hebrew
The Society is engaged in a revision of the Delitzsch Hebrew New Testament, conforming the text more closely to the Greek Received Text and making the language more accessible to modern Hebrew speakers. In 2013 the Gospel according to John was published in three editions. The Hebrew-only text is available here for download; printed copies of the Hebrew-English and Hebrew-Russian diglot editions and other Hebrew Scriptures are available for online purchase using this link. It is hoped that revision of the entire New Testament might be completed by 2018.
The Gospel according to John in Nepali
