The Society’s major project to revise the Delitzsch New Testament (DHNT) continues to make steady progress. Along with the ongoing cautious modernisation of the language, the decision was taken toward the end of 2015 to improve readability by adding modern Hebrew punctuation to the classical Hebrew marks that are already in place. This major change in strategy has meant revisiting some of the earlier work, but it is hoped that the adjustment will make the remaining revision work easier.
So far the team have completed the Gospel according to John, Philippians, Ephesians and Romans, and have also prepared a first draft of Matthew and Mark. They hope to complete Luke and 1 and 2 Corinthians by the end of 2016, God willing, after which they will begin working on Acts.
We are particularly grateful for the monetary funding received from the Finnish Bible Institute for the DHNT project since it commenced in 2010. We are also thankful for the recent financial support for the revision team from the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland. Please join us in praying for the revisers as they continue to work on this vital project, and in thanking our God for His provision of the individuals undertaking this worthy endeavour.
