A Buddhist Seeker

For several years now the Society has been involved in preparing a new translation of the Chinese Bible. Thus far, the Society has published the Gospel according to John, and now, for the first time in the Society’s history, a Words of Life calendar in Mandarin Chinese. Mandarin, which is spoken by 900 million people, is the most widely spoken Chinese dialect.

A surprising number of Chinese calendars for 2017 have been sold at deputation meetings across the UK. One customer purchased 30 copies, one for each of the students in his class. It was especially encouraging to hear from one Christian couple who have recently had contact with a Chinese-speaking Buddhist student who was seeking after the truth. The Christian couple were delighted to be able to obtain a calendar to pass on to her.

May God’s rich blessing be experienced as the truth is disseminated through these Calendars, and through the Chinese Gospel according to John. Please also continue to uphold the vital work of our Chinese Bible translators in your prayers.
