TBS French Bible

The Society’s French Bible Revision Team are revising the 1872 Lausanne French Bible with constant reference to the underlying Greek Received Text. They have now completed the Gospels according to Matthew, Mark, and Luke, and are working on Acts. Preparatory work has also begun on the Gospel according to John and Paul’s letter to the Romans.

The French Gospel according to Matthew was published in October 2015, and feedback has generally been positive, which is encouraging. We rejoice that during 2016 and 2017 the revision team has been strengthened by the addition of two new members: a French pastor from Quebec and a French theological student from south-west France. As a result the speed of revision has picked up pace, and there are also plans to introduce fresh material on our French website.

We would request prayer for each member of the French revision team. It can be difficult for them to devote much time and attention to this project because they all have other work or responsibilities besides that of revising the French Bible. We are thankful for progress made thus far, but long for the work to be able to advance more rapidly.
