How we got our English Bible.

‘Right at the beginning let me say what a wonderful, wonderful thing it is that God has given us a holy Book. We have it in our own language; it can be understood; it sets forth the way of salvation, the way to heaven; and with the Holy Spirit’s help we can understand it.’

Through the hand of the Lord, many events have transpired and wisdom has been granted to men to have the written Word of God published and made available in the English language. This article goes over those key events and men, describing how the Authorised (King James) Version came to be. The invention of the printing press and men such as John Wycliffe, William Tyndale and other Hebrew and Greek scholars are discussed in this article.
