Reformation Timeline
12 November 2021

At this time of year many Christians remember the day when Martin Luther famously nailed his ninety-five theses to the church door in Wittenberg, Germany. Around the time of this auspicious event on 31 October 1517, other men now known as Reformers were
also making moves to bring the Church back to the truths of Scripture, captured in the five solae of the Reformation.
One of the five solae was sola Scriptura, according to Scripture alone. The Reformation brought about a desire in many hearts for the Word of God to be available in the language of the people, not the Latin which was allowed by the Church but not widely
understood and also erroneous. So began the translation of God’s Word from the Latin Vulgate and later the Hebrew Masoretic and Greek Received texts into many languages.
In 2017 the Society commissioned a timeline to commemorate the 500th Anniversary of the dawn of the Reformation. Key events over the centuries are described, beginning with Luther’s ninety-five theses, through to the formation of the Trinitarian Bible
Society in 1831 and on to the 21st century.
The timeline comes in two parts and is printed on high quality 150gsm paper. At £2.75, this timeline would make a worthwhile addition in your home, school, or Sunday school. To place an order, click here or call our sales department on 020 8543 7857.
