Amharic New Testament

There were delays in getting the initial print run of 10,000 copies of the Amharic New Testament and Psalms produced in Europe, but we rejoice that, at the time of writing, these are on their way by ship to Ethiopia. We are thankful that the additional 5,000 copies printed by Bearing Precious Seed (BPS), Milford, Ohio, USA have also been completed.

Our registration in Ethiopia as a foreign‐based religious organisation has been granted. This will help with importing and distributing the recently printed Amharic New Testament and Psalms and the promotion of our work and principles across the country.

The main Old Testament translation phase of the project has begun with Genesis. In addition, our translator has translated several TBS articles into Amharic which are available to view at www.tbsbibles.org/amharic.

We are grateful for the financial support from TBS (Canada) for this project, and for the funds raised by firstBible International (fBI) for printing the New Testament and Psalms at Bearing Precious Seed, Milford.
