It was deeply saddening to hear of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during her Platinum Jubilee year. At her coronation in 1953, the Queen was presented with an Authorised (King James) Version Bible to these accompanying words:

 

Our gracious Queen: to keep your Majesty ever mindful of the law and the Gospel of God as the Rule for the whole life and government of Christian Princes, we present you with this Book, the most valuable thing that this world affords. Here is Wisdom; This is the royal Law; These are the lively Oracles of God.

 

We give thanks to Almighty God for preserving Her Majesty throughout the seventy years of her reign. As such, the Society produced a commemorative edition to mark Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee and the Queen recently conveyed her gratitude for having received a gift of this commemorative Bible from the Society.

 

The Society extends its condolences to King Charles III and his family during this difficult time and prays that his reign will be one of obedience to the most high God — and that it may be a time when the nation once again receives the glorious Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
