Scriptures for Kenya

30 May 2023

While there are sixty-two languages spoken in Kenya, English is one of the two official languages (the other being Swahili). Situated on the east coast of Africa it is surrounded by South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Uganda, and Tanzania.

Eighty-three per cent of Kenyans identify as Christian, with over fifty per cent of them claiming to be Protestant with other groups identifying as Roman Catholic or Evangelical. Kenya also has the largest population of Quakers in the world. The remainder of the population is Muslim, Hindu, or non-religious.

Poverty is rampant in Kenya and many people struggle to make ends meet. As such, TBS sees a large number of grant requests come from Kenya; recently we were pleased to send sixty-four Royal Ruby Bibles and one hundred New Testaments with Psalms. Please pray for all those who receive copies of God’s Word.
