31 October 2023
TBS recently granted 200 Arabic Bibles and 100 Arabic New Testaments to a grantee in Senegal.
Senegal is a West African country located on the most western tip of Africa. Its expansive landscape includes a coastline, savannah, wetlands, and the Sahel region in the north. While the official language of Senegal is French, minority languages include Arabic, Diola, Mandingo, Pulaar, Serer, and Wolof.
Senegal's economy is diverse, with agriculture, fishing, mining, and manufacturing playing key roles. It is one of the most economically developed in West Africa. Politically, Senegal is known for its stability and has held regular democratic elections
since gaining its independence from France in 1960.

The predominant religion in Senegal is Islam with the significant majority of Senegalese identifying as Muslim (whose primary religious texts are in Arabic). There are also Christian and indigenous religious communities but combined they make up less
than four per cent of the populace.
As the Word of God goes forth to every corner of the world, pray that Scriptures would be transported safely, distributed in a timely manner, and be a blessing to those who receive it.
‘O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD’ (Isaiah 2.5)
