A Faithful Bible for Portuguese Speakers

Portuguese is a diverse language that has a rich cultural and historical heritage; it continues to evolve and thrive in various regions of the world, but most notably in countries where it is the national language: Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, East Timor, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, and Portugal. It is estimated that 220 million people speak the various dialects.

Since the publication of our first Portuguese Bible millions of copies of our Portuguese Scriptures have been circulated throughout the Portuguese-speaking world. Over recent years our branch in Brazil has led efforts to regularly update the published text so that it conforms to the changes specified by the internationally recognised Portuguese language academy.

Our Portuguese Bible text is available through the Society’s online Bible at tbsonlinebible.com or for Portuguese speakers through our Brazilian branch website at biblias.com.br. Each year there are millions of visits to the Brazilian website and other apps where these Scriptures can be viewed.
