Scriptures for Children

A recent grantee in Nigeria received 25 Golden Thoughts calendars and 100 Pocket New Testaments. The photo shown here is of a few of the recipients of this grant, and we pray that these Scriptures would be a blessing to the young children.

Nigeria, located in West Africa, is the most populous country on the continent and one of the most culturally diverse nations. Over 250 ethnic groups are reflected in its cultural heritage as well as over five hundred languages. Blessed with abundant natural resources, including oil, Nigeria is Africa's largest oil producer, yet economic disparities persist. Major cities such as Lagos and Abuja are centres of commerce and government, while issues with corruption, infrastructure development, and security still abound.

As with all nations around the world, Nigeria is in much need of the Word of God. About half of Nigerians identify as Christian and the other half as Muslim; a very small minority hold to tribal African religions. Pray for this vast country and for people to be saved.
