Translating the Scriptures in 2024

As we look to the year ahead of us, we give thanks to the Lord for the continued privilege of translating the Holy Scriptures into many languages for nations and people around the world. In 2023 several languages reached important milestones and are now being prepared for publication in 2024 and 2025.

With 54 active projects, we pray for sustained strength, guidance, and wisdom for the translators. Many of these fellow labourers are working in countries where instability, disease, and conflict are much more present threats than to those of us labouring in Western countries. Let us prayerfully and practically stand with them, ‘For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister’ (Hebrews 6.10).

‘For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it’ (Isaiah 55.10-11).
