1,000 Words of Life Calendars for Kenya

The Words of Life calendar is a Gospel calendar featuring a Bible verse, image, and monthly calendar, and is used for both personal and evangelistic purposes. We were pleased to send 1,000 English copies to a grantee in Kenya. After distributing them, the grantee sent us the following letter of appreciation.

We would like to thank you once again for the grant of the calendars. We found them to be such a good method for outreach. Although we work primarily with children, we obviously meet many people, and we found the calendars to be such a good opening. They provided a good ice breaker to speak with locals. We can honestly say that we didn't have even one refusal. More than that, the people were just so happy and excited to receive the calendars. We spent time in the capital of Nairobi, Mombasa on the coast, a town called Nakuru in the Great Rift Valley, and also a number of weeks in a more rural area in Western Kenya.

Calendars were accepted not just by those in churches and schools but by many unsaved people we met. We were able to give to security guards and even some policemen at checkpoints. In a guest house we stayed in, we were able to give to all the staff members and those who worked in the adjoining supermarket. Also, in the guest house, a calendar was accepted by one of the chefs who is a Muslim and was, at the time, fasting for Ramadhan. He was delighted with the calendar. 

Please continue to pray for all the distribution efforts by grantees. ‘For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me’ (John 17.8).
