Updates on Our Hebrew Projects
29 May 2024
The Society currently has two Hebrew projects that continue to make progress: the revision of the Delitzsch Hebrew New Testament (DHNT), and the digitisation of the Hebrew Masoretic Old Testament.
Delitzsch New Testament
The Hebrew New Testament revision project aims to make the Delitzsch translation more faithful to the Greek Received Text and in a more understandable form of Hebrew. The work is almost complete, and Lord willing, we hope to have all the files in-house
by the end of June. Because the work was checked by our Editorial Consultant (Linguistics) book by book as they were completed, we hope that soon after receiving the files and adding them to our editorial system that the New Testament can be typeset
and proceed to the final proofreading stages before publication next year.
Masoretic Old Testament
The digitisation of the Hebrew Masoretic text continues to slowly progress. We currently have twenty-six of the thirty-nine Old Testament books and are processing them through our editorial system. In due time we hope to publish the Hebrew Masoretic Old
Testament on our Online Bible App.
How to pray for the Hebrew projects
- Pray that the files for the revised New Testament will be submitted on time and that no hindrances would arise during the typesetting and proofreading stages.
- Pray that the digitisation of the Old Testament will be completed soon, and that we can add it to our digital Bible app.
- Pray that both projects will be a blessing to those who speak and study Hebrew.
