Slovak John and Romans Published

02 July 2024

A new translation of the Gospel according to John and Paul’s Epistle to the Romans in Slovak has been published in print and online. We are delighted that the project has reached this milestone and hope that it will be a blessing to many Slovak-speaking people.

Slovak, the official language of the Slovak Republic, is a West Slavic language spoken by approximately 5.4 million people in Slovakia and by the Slovak diaspora. It is closely related to Czech and Polish.

The lead translator is currently translating the second half of Matthew and looking forward to working next in Mark. At the Society, we have set up a webpage in the Slovak language with the aim of making the project more broadly known.

How to pray for this project:

  • For churches, missionary organisations, and like-minded individuals to assist in the distribution efforts.
  • For the new publication to be read widely amongst Slovak-speaking people.
  • For wisdom and guidance for the translator as he continues his New Testament translation work.
