The Scriptures in Nigeria
27 August 2024

There are over 230 million people in Nigeria divided into some 250 different ethnic groups and 500 languages—with the official language being English. About half of Nigerians identify as Christian and the other half as Muslim; a very small minority hold
to tribal African religions. Overall, Nigeria is not wealthy as over 40% of Nigerians live in poverty.
We are grateful that we have grantees in Nigeria who can distribute Scriptures to these needy people. Grantees often request additional Scriptures, such as the grantee to whom we sent New Testaments to: ‘Please as the Lord blesses we need some more and in other areas you can help us. Thanks.’
‘I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings’ (Psalm 77.11-12).
