The Catalan Bible
01 October 2024
Catalan is a language spoken in Cataluña, the Balearic Islands, Valencian Community, Andorra, and parts of France. These regions combined bring the total number of Catalan speakers to approximately 9.3 million people.
The Society’s Catalan Bible, first published in 2009, continues to be circulated throughout the region of Cataluña. Gideons International printed 20,000 copies of the New Testament and Psalms in Catalan on licence from us, and we trust the Lord will bless
that distribution. Recently we have made further progress on some minor corrections to the first edition.
Various initiatives continue to make these Scriptures available more widely through digital (and potentially) audio means. The full text of the Catalan Bible is publicly available on our online Bible at tbsonlinebible.com/#ca.
How to pray for this project:
- For the distribution of the Catalan Scriptures, both in print and digitally.
- For the revision work to progress in a timely fashion.
- For Catalan speakers to willingly receive a faithful copy of God’s Word.
