In 2014, TBS commenced a new edition of the Pokot Bible. The Gospel according to John was published in 2021 and feedback thus far has been very positive. Lord willing, we hope to have the file for the New Testament by the end of the year.

This new translation is primarily from the TBS Greek New Testament with secondary reference to the Authorised (King James) Version. Our lead translator also refers to the first edition TBS Pokot New Testament of 1967, as well as the Pokot New Testament published by the Bible Society of Kenya and other extant African language translations.

‘His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed’ (Psalm 72.17).

How to pray for this project:

• Pray for the continued health of the main translator who is quite elderly.
• Pray for the translation team as they continue their translating and proofreading work.
• Pray for the distribution of the printed copies of the Gospel according to John.
