Verses with Zero-Support
This article addresses a flaw in modern Bible translations that rely on the Critical Text. Dr Maurice A. Robinson has demonstrated that the Nestle-Aland text contains at least 105 verses which have ‘zero-support’ overall in any extant manuscripts of the Greek New Testament, ancient versions, or early church writings. These verses have been pieced together by editors working with isolated word variations in the ‘laboratory’ of textual criticism, producing a ‘test-tube text’ not supported by manuscripts. By contrast, the traditional Received Text used by the Reformers and the Authorised (King James) Version shows a clear and consistent line of preservation through the centuries, with manuscripts in remarkable agreement.
Believers can have confidence that God has faithfully preserved His Word, and that the traditional Received Text represents the Scriptures as they have been known and trusted by the church from the apostolic age to our own day.
