Our Responsibility for Scripture-less People Groups
1 hour ago
It has been estimated that 1,268 languages spoken by around 100 million have no Scripture in any form and have no translation project in sight. While English speakers enjoy an abundance of Bible translations, these Scripture-less communities cannot read God’s Word in their heart language, hindering their spiritual growth and the church’s witness. The Trinitarian Bible Society has a long history of first-time Bible translation projects and currently supports translation work in at least twelve Scripture-less languages. Revelation 7.9 reminds us that the great multitude before the Lamb will come from ‘all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues’, giving us both motivation and responsibility to ensure that Scripture-less people groups receive the Word of God in their own language.
