Troubleshooting

Things not going smoothly? We have put this page together to help you clear up any issues you might be having with our Online Bible.

If you are accessing the Online Bible as a website using a browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, etc., check out the advice below marked with a indicator. If you have installed the Online Bible as an app on to your device, check out the advice below marked with an indicator.

About Cookies

The Online Bible stores data on your device to increase performance and remember your settings. This is categorised under the general term 'cookies', but is very different to the tracking data often used by other sites. The data that we store on your device is never transmitted back to the Society.

This means that, generally speaking, it is:
❌ NOT OK to block cookies - this might stop some parts of the Online Bible App working correctly
✅ OK to clear the cookies - you should only lose your settings.

Most browsers now make it easy to see what cookies are set and blocked on a site. In Chrome and Edge, click on the padlock icon before the URL and select the Cookies option.

Under the Allowed cookies there should only be be entries for www.tbsonlinebible.com. Under the Blocked cookies there should be no entries at all. If there are, and you see www.tbsonlinebible.com listed there, you should select it and click 'Allow'.
