Summary Annual Report for Greater London Auxiliar delivered at AGM 16 November 2023

In the year since our last AGM, we have focussed on 3 major areas of distribution.

Our principal task has been the distribution mainly, but not exclusively, of complete Bibles into schools, having been given a great door of opportunity in the issuing of commemorative editions for the platinum jubilee and death of the late Queen, Elizabeth II, and also the Coronation of the new King, Charles III. We have also seen as a side effect of those contacts, further opportunities to be able to speak at schools, either at assemblies or on other occasions about the Word, and other Christian topics. Our two initial volunteer's have continued to be busy making the contacts and following up on responses.

Secondly, following the home call of our late colleague, Mr Jude D'Souza, we have been able to obtain the help of a new volunteer to take up the contacting of Care Homes to see if they will take, not only the Scriptures, but also calendars and other Scripture items, especially in large font versions.

Thirdly, we have had 3 occasions of a small team comprising members of the Committee with various volunteers from their churches, making a Bible distribution event at Trafalgar Square on a Saturday afternoon for a couple of hours in the summer and October. We have been able to put up a series of tables, and stands, with a banner and address the public with a public address system. These events have proved popular with not only the Team members, but happily, also with passers by, and the Trafalgar Square management/security team. At the last event, the management representative stayed for our prayer and asked if we could come again. While many people have proved indifferent, and a very few argumentative, there have been many good conversations and a surprisingly diverse range and amount of Bibles in English and many foreign languages given out.

In addition to the regular prayer meetings and business meetings for the committee, we have also held, on Zoom, a public prayer meeting. We hope to see this become an established event.

Although we have seen the demands for the Bibles and other Scripture items grow, and we have been able to increase the number of these distributed, yet we have also seen the need and requests for the Scriptures exceed and outstrip our ability to supply all the requests received. Several times we have had to suspend further invitations until funds are available.

We see the fields white unto harvest, and now cast ourselves on the Lord to send us the resources, helpers, and materials and especially the continued requests to be fulfilled. Please pray for the Lord's Kingdom to be extended and the work here to be furthered to the glory of our God.

November 2020 — Bibles for Schools

The Greater London Auxiliary has been contacting schools with the hope to distribute Bibles and Scripture portions to them. Recently 4 new schools have requested Bibles, including a Roman Catholic school which also requested a deputation speaker to give a message to the children. The distribution to the schools amounted to 44 Reformation Bibles, 165 Windsor Text Bibles, 163 Royal Ruby Bibles, 3 timelines and 84 bookmarks.

We must give our heartfelt thanks to the LORD Who is continuing to bless the work and endeavours in opening doors to these 4 schools. Please pray for the children who receive the Bibles and Scripture items.

I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. —

Autumn 2020 — Distribution to Care Homes

To date, 22 Bibles and well over 400 large print editions of the Gospel according to John have been distributed to care homes in the greater London area. Many of the care homes which received the Bibles and Gospels expressed gratitude for them on behalf of the residents. We pray that the Lord would bless these Scriptures to the residents in these homes.

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. —

Autumn 2020 — Bibles for Schools

After requesting a sample copy of a Royal Ruby Bible and a New Testament, a local school asked for 90 Bibles for their Year 6 pupils. With joy and thanksgiving, the Auxiliary granted the requested Bibles and pray that they will be read and be a blessing to the young people.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. —
