Asking the right questions

The Society’s UK Deputation Speakers reach out to a wide spectrum of churches during their ministry. The main focus of their meetings is on the Word of God and its translation and distribution. Towards the end of some meetings church leaders may request time for the congregation to ask questions.

Recently one of the Deputation Speakers took a meeting in the south of England. He was very encouraged by the interest in the Society’s stance on fundamental doctrines, such as the Traditional Text of Holy Scripture which the Society uses for its translation work (the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament, and the Greek Textus Receptus of the New Testament), and the accuracy of the Authorised Version. It was evident by the questions asked that the Pastor and members of this church had been thinking very carefully on these important issues and had come to warmly embrace the Society’s Scripturally-based position.

This year is the five hundredth anniversary of the Reformation. It is our prayer that many more churches may be led to rediscover the importance of the providentially-preserved text of Scripture from which so many of the great Reformation Bibles were directly translated, and then used of God so mightily.
