Safe delivery of Bibles

The wife of our Senior Deputation Speaker has been in contact with a believer from the Philippines for the last eighteen years. She was recently disturbed to receive the following message about a delivery of Bibles:

'TBS sent me a box containing 32 Bibles. I was so happy, they will be of great help to us. I was just sad that the Post Office demanded that I pay an amount the equivalent of the cost of the Bibles. I ask why they are collecting payment when the sender has already paid. They had an official receipt for the payment made by TBS, but wouldn’t hand over the Bibles until I had paid as well.'

Sadly, we do hear stories of corruption like this. Much prayer is needed for the Bibles distributed by the Society, that they would arrive safely at their destinations and that the Lord would open the door 'Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ' (Colossians 4.3)
