A grateful young man from China

In order to faithfully convey God’s Word in an accurate form for Chinese-speaking people, the Society has now published over 75,000 copies of the Gospel according to John in simplified Mandarin Chinese, with more than 20,000 of these in a ‘diglot’ form with the English text alongside. The diglot edition is ideal for many Chinese people, especially those of the younger generation who often use an English Bible, one reason being that the Chinese Union Version is difficult for them to read. It is also especially useful for the millions of Chinese speakers living in English-speaking countries.

Recently one of the Society’s Deputation Speakers was taking a meeting at a university city in the United Kingdom, and had an interesting conversation with a Chinese-speaking student. The young man showed great interest in the Society’s work and was not only very grateful to be given a Chinese Words of Life Calendar but especially pleased to receive a copy of our Chinese-English Gospel according to John. “The work your Society is doing is invaluable!” he exclaimed.

It is our prayer that these Chinese Scriptures will be made a blessing to this young man, and the thousands of other needy souls around the world who receive them.
