A message of hope
20 April 2020

Just over a week ago one of the Society’s UK Deputation Speakers decided to leave a few free Bibles in a box on the front wall of his home, with a notice which read:
FREE BIBLES
A message of hope in the midst of the present crisis
Fewer people than usual pass his home due to the Coronavirus lockdown, yet, remarkably, within ten days, sixteen copies of God’s Word have been taken by passers-by. Each Bible has a ‘10 Commandments’ bookmark inserted at John chapter 3 in the hope that the vital truths of the new birth and salvation through Christ will reach the hearts of those who read it. More Bibles have been purchased from the Society to keep up with the demand.
As people are confronted with daily news of many hundreds of deaths each day in the UK alone, could it be that there is an awakened interest in the message of the Holy Scriptures? This would seem to be the case. Some churches are reporting an increased response to their website offer of a free Bible.
In answer to our prayers, may our gracious God use His Word as a mighty instrument in the hearts of those who receive it, bringing them from darkness to light, and thereby making them wise unto salvation.
