Scriptures for Ukrainians: An Update

Friends and supporters of TBS may be interested in a short update on the Society’s circulation of Scriptures for the people of Ukraine.

For many years TBS has published and distributed the Ukrainian Bible (Kulisch edition). It has not always been easy to get Bibles into Ukraine, but we have nevertheless been able to distribute over 5,000 Ukrainian Bibles over the last four years or so, primarily through our grants program.

When Russia invaded Ukraine at the end of February we had around 4,500 Ukrainian Bibles in stock. A few days later two remarkably large orders came through for Ukrainian Bibles, one for 4,000 copies and the other for 500 copies, meaning that we are now completely out of stock of this Bible.

We are sorry not to have more copies available but are pleased that in the Lord’s providence we did at least have several thousand Ukrainian Bibles available. Given the current high level of demand we intend to republish and have copies back in stock as soon as possible. While we wait for the new Bibles to be printed we can still offer Bibles in other languages, particularly Russian which many Ukrainians can read and understand.

Some supporters have kindly been in touch asking if there is a need for the distribution of Bibles for Ukrainians and whether they could assist financially. We do anticipate a continued demand for Scriptures for Ukrainian people, so supporters are most welcome to make a donation to our Scriptures for Ukrainians fund. This can be done by contacting our office and speaking with our Finance Team.
