themselves claim to be the Word of God as a whole—“All Scripture is
given by inspiration of God”—and never hint at different degrees of
authority for their several portions. The perfect accuracy and agreement
of so many authors, of various ages and nations, which we find in the
Holy Scriptures, itself demands the assignment of a supernatural cause.’
