6,000 Calendars for Uganda
24 April 2023

The Republic of Uganda is a landlocked country surrounded by Kenya, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania. Approximately 50 million people live in Uganda. The official language is English, and Swahili, although not an official
language, is also spoken and taught. Several tribal languages are also spoken in various regions across the country.
For many years the Society has been sending Gospels, New Testaments, Bibles, and calendars to Uganda mostly for free distribution as it is one of the poorest nations in the world. One of the grants in 2022 included over 6,000 English Golden Thoughts calendars;
the following correspondence was recently received from the grantee.
We received all the 21 parcels that were sent. We distributed them to the brethren in our monthly meetings December 2022 and January 2023. We had a national convention which included participants from Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda. We remained with less
than 200 copies for those who might have wished from the above gatherings. Some other members who usually get from us could not get because they were not enough. Otherwise we are so grateful for the supply that was made.
Please remember the distribution of Scriptures in Uganda in your prayers. ‘O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come’ (Psalm 65.2).
