The Modern Majority Text

‘It is a matter of fact that the great majority of manuscripts of the Greek NT come from the monasteries and churches of the Byzantine empire – not from anywhere else.’ Due to this fact, people have sometimes referred to the traditional text as a majority text in a looser way. More commonly in current discussion, it refers to something different. It is a modern reconstructed text that aims to be based on the majority of currently extant manuscript witnesses.
