Scriptures in Other Languages

The Society publishes Gospels, New Testaments, and Bibles in many different languages. These are the results of many years of faithful and diligent translation work. Currently, we have over 75 ongoing translation and revision projects. Below is a brief account of some of these projects and the languages in which we have published Scriptures or Scripture portions.

The Gospel of John was published in 2015 and New Testament was published in 2022. Work has begun on the Old Testament.

The TBS prints the 1865 Van Dyck Arabic Bible, a major language in the Middle East and the religious language of Muslims worldwide.

The Eastern Armenian Bible was published by the TBS in 2012. It has been reprinted twice and there is still strong demand for it.

The Bemba Gospel according to John was published by the TBS in 2021. The translation work continues.

The Society’s Bible in Catalan was first published in 2009; the majority of Catalan speakers live in Catalonia.

The TBS is working on a new revision of the Chichewa Scriptures. The New Testament was published in 2020.

The Chinese New Testament was printed in 2023 and work has now commenced on the Old Testament.

TBS distributes the Dutch Statenvertaling published by the Gereformeerde Bijbelstichting, our sister society in the Netherlands.

The TBS is revising the 1872 Lausanne Bible with reference to the 1707/1712 Martin Bible. The New Testament is finished.

TBS prints the Standard German Bible and the Gospel of John based on the 1912-1998 Luther Bible with minor corrections.

The Society has recently began a new revision of the 1830 Hindi Bible. The project has commenced with John's epistles.

The Károli Bible is published by the Society and a significant portion has been digitised which will be added to the OBA in due course.

The Society is revising the Maltese Bible as the Maltese language has changed significantly in the past few decades.

Māori is spoken amongst the tribal people in New Zealand. The TBS has revised and printed the 1868 Māori Bible.

TBS published a new translation of the New Testament in the Cyrillic Mongolian script in 2017. Work continues on the Old Testament.

TBS published a Ndebele Bible in 2012 for Ndebele speakers in Zimbabwe, which has been widely distributed.

The TBS Nepali Bible was first published in 2011 and was principally done in the dialect spoken in India.

In 2019, TBS published a new revision of the classic Persian New Testament of 1895. Revision work continues on the Old Testament.

The Trinitarian Bible Society ACF Bible has received widespread acceptance in Brazil and across denominational boundaries.

The third edition of the TBS Romanian Bible was printed in 2018 bringing the text closer to the Biblical languages.
