One of the chief activities of our Wessex Auxiliary is to encourage the distribution of God’s Word and TBS literature to local schools, prisons, nursing homes, doctors’ surgeries, military establishments, and other public places. With the Lord’s help, the Wessex Auxiliary will cooperate closely with the Society’s headquarters; and, through local knowledge, will provide practical assistance in the distribution of God’s Word. In order to further this objective, we encourage local churches and assemblies to work alongside the Auxiliary, seeking opportunities to circulate the Word of God in their immediate locality. The Wessex Auxiliary held its inaugural meeting in January 2010 and hopes to build on the work carried out over so many years by the Wiltshire and West Auxiliary. The Wessex Auxiliary was set up to oversee the growth of the important work of furthering local interest in the work of the Society as a whole, as well as of fulfilling the Society’s primary purpose in seeking opportunities to circulate copies of the Word of God in the region. For the purposes of the Auxiliary, Wessex covers Wiltshire and the neighbouring counties of Gloucestershire, Somerset, Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, and Oxfordshire. |
