Wessex has a number of prisons and young offenders institution within its region.  An active programme of contact is made with these instiutions.  Bibles and other scripture materials are offered and the reponse has been very encouraging.  Towards the end of the year the Word of Life calendars are very popular requests from these organisations.  The prison population is constantly changing there is high demand from the chaplaincy services for Bibles and other scripture materials.  Recently a letter of appreciation was recieved from a prisoner who had been given a Bible.  It was heartwarming to hear of that individual's experience.

Contact is also made with Immigration Removal Centres, foreign scriptre materials are readily requested.
